Christmas Cocktails

Thursday night I was off to the German Market when I must have accidentally fell all the way into Selfridges. Silly me.

The entire makeup section of the shop has been redone and oh gosh its amazing. And even more amazing then that, when I was shopping around MAC a man came over with free cocktails! When did I die and go to heaven?

Champagne and mince pies were also being handed out to customers whilst they shopped in this section, but I really liked the idea of festive cocktails so I'm nabbing it off you. Thanks Selfridges.

As always, the cocktails were filled with crushed ice, probably to avoid spending too much on giving away alcohol and having customers lying-on-the-floor drunk. They were then filled with a strawberry vodka mix, which was great for Christmas because this meant the drinks were red. But my overall favourite part of the cocktails would have to be the candy cane sitting in it. This just made the drink fly off the festive scale it was so flippin' cute.

Other ideas to spice up drinks would be these cute little santa hats from notonthehighstreet. They're a really good price considering you get 10, so even if you have a massive family Christmas meal you're only likely to need three packets.

If you like your drinks traditional go for eggnog or mulled wine, or if you just want to see your friends drunk, why not make green and red skittle vodkas, and experiment with adding a bit of red and green edible glitter?

Whatever you decide to drink this season be responsible and drink a glitterberry J2o inbetween alcoholic drinks, (if you can bear the taste that is.) Tomorrow is finally December so don't forget to get out and dust off your advent calendars if you're like me and your lovely granny gave it you in October! Have a yummy first chocolate.

Here's one I stole off google

  2. I've noticed a lot of bars and coffee shops are promoting variations of Candy Cane of Minty Flavored drinks this year. Not exactly my cup of tea, but it's a refreshing change from the bombardment of pumpkin flavoring that was in everything from September to November.
