Saturday thoughts #1

Recently my blog has seemed very product/fashion orientated and so I want to mix things up a bit. As there was currently no regularity to my posts I thought I'd do a weekly thing where I could basically throw out my thoughts on whatever I wanted, so saturday thoughts has been created. :)

My first thoughts are going to be all about tattoos as I'm turning 18 so it'll soon be legal in the UK for me to get one (sorry mum!)

Like everything in life there is a certain stigma attached to tattoos, and as much as I want to do things purely for myself and not care about other's opinions I know that going out tomorrow and getting a full sleeve could be very detrimental in later life. After all would I trust a doctor with love/hate scribed across his knuckles and a portrait of Lady Gaga covering their back? Perhaps not.

But this shouldn't be the case. Tattoos can be pieces of art that represent passions, show tributes to loved ones or give you a constant reminder of who you are. Quote tattoos are beautiful whether its a song lyric or  a saying you want to live by. But I don't think all tattoos need meaning. Some of my favourites, shown on my pinterest board below, are so fun and lighthearted, something I think everyone could be a little more of! If you want roses down your arm or just a moustache on your finger than go do it!! But they are permanent so think long and hard about size and placement etc. Oh and don't get it when you're sh*tfaced in Magaluf because do you really know what that Chinese symbol on your bum cheek means? haha.

Also check out HeyClaire and BeautyCrush's tattoos on youtube because I think they're both a great example of how tattoos can look classy and elegant.

  1. These are too cute, deff showing how they can not be seen as 'chavy' and not elegant! love this

  3. Great post! I really like the tattoos on your pinterest board but yeah like you said, their is a stigma.

  4. I don't think there's anything wrong with tattoos. It's your body that you live in.

I think I need to join Pintrest. I like the layout of the mood boards.
