Extending your makeup brushes' lives

Hello lovelies! Hope you've all had a wicked Christmas day whether it was spent getting sh*tfaced with family and friends or curled up on the sofa with a cup of tea and your favourite christmas movie.

Here I have a quick tip for looking after your makeup brushes, which will be hopefully be useful to those of you who got some for christmas or who are just looking up how to look after them. I try to wash my brushes once a week, just because the amount of product and yuckiness that gets trapped in the fibres is crazy so I don't want to be buffing this into my skin daily.

There's plenty blog posts and youTube videos on how to clean your brushes so I'm not going to go into details of how I do it, but one thing I do make sure I always do is dry them upside-down as this stops water saturating the glue where the bristles are held in, which will result in bristles falling out sooner.

To do this I just use old hair-bobbles wrapped around a bar and then thread my brush through them, as shown in the picture of the brushes I cleaned today. If you have a heated towel rail/a bar over a radiator this will help the brushes dry quicker but if not just wash them at night and they will be dry by morning:)
