Poolside

Last week I went to Hvar, a small island in Croatia, so I thought I would share with you a few items I purchased to make me holiday ready.

River Island (similar)
Triangl replicas are everywhere this season and its not hard to understand why. I love their simple and clean cut designs and bold choices of colour, yet as a student who's only going to spend a week or two in swimwear this year I couldn't justify treating myself to the real deal.
This RI alternative was far more affordable and I fell in love with both the colour and texture which so quickly snapped it up before the bikini-buying madness officially started. I also love this design as I rarely choose bikinis with straps to avoid tan lines, and the structured cups made me feel a lot more comfortable about my otherwise lacking top half.
Ebay and Missguided are also great alternatives if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to Triangl's designs.

H&M (similar)
Going back on everything said previously, for the first time in many years I did actually buy a bikini with straps, but I couldn't help myself because check out the colour! I find fluorescent colours never show their full potential on camera but this really is such a bright orange and looks gorgeous with even a light tan.
Although this cannot be found on the H&M website it is still on sale in store in a range of colours, with the top only costing £3.99 so definitely one we can all justify.

Quay sunglasses
Available at Topshop and ASOS in the UK, Quay sunglasses are all the rage this summer and its not hard to see why. All their sleek designs are so on trend, and I went for the 'my girl' glasses which sport cat eye frames and mirrored lenses; perfect for a poolside snoop.

Although not this season, tortoise shell is a timeless classic, and a great staple to have when you're going for a more understated look.

Next
My second pair of mirrored lenses were these Next aviators. I never like to wear makeup in the day times on holiday but sporting the blonde eyelashes and small eyes look can be daunting, so covering up with mirrored lenses is a great confidence booster and also makes you look far more done up, in my opinion.

  1. I love the H&M bikini. I have been searching for a bikini all summer but haven't found one that I like and feel comfortable. I might have a look in H&M when I am in London next week. Hope you had a lovely time in Croatia.

  2. I love the H&M bikini, I keep seeing similar in all the shops, they look really flattering. I'm really fussy about bikinis! I also the aviators, can't go wrong with that shape.

    1. I've never had aviators before but they are so timeless I'm so glad I got them! Although getting them stuck in your hair is the worst! X
