Very berry smoothie bowl | health

What you'll need:
Handful of frozen berries
1x Banana
Splash of milk
Half a lime (juiced)
Sprinkle of chia, pumpkin and sunflower seeds
Granola

Trying to keep up with uni work at the moment is an absolute nightmare. In between revising for anatomy spot tests, taking exams and writing lab reports I barely have time to sleep, let alone blog!

Not wanting my blog to suffer, I thought it would be a really good idea to talk about something relevant to me, and most students out there, especially at this time of year.

When spending 9-5 in the library every day I get sooo hungry, which usually results in me snacking on shite. However I try to balance this out eating lots of veg and other healthy foods for my meal time, and I found one thing that really reduces my hunger during long hours at the library is a good breakfast.

If you're like me and you like to roll out of bed at the last minute, so need a quick, no-faff breakfast, then I think smoothie bowls are such a good idea.

For this, I just chuck in my Breville blender a whole banana, a handful of frozen raspberries (these are cheaper and last for longer), a squeeze of lime juice(when/if I can afford fresh limes because they are defo the magic ingredient) and a big splash of milk. I use milk because its a lot cheaper than yoghurt, and I've found blending frozen fruits and seeds gives my smoothie the consistency I like. Then I just throw on some sunflower, chia and pumpkin seeds, and Co-op's own strawberry granola and that's it, breakfast sorted! I also used to add spinach, but let's be honest, nobody wants to drink a brown smoothie, so I just eat enough of this for my lunch and dinner.

Let me know what you think of this easy breaky if you try it, and also let me know what you guys have for breakfast as I love mixing things up a bit! P.S. I'm in love with my new christmas bedding, which was only £18 for a double bed set from Primark which I think is so good! If you want to get your hands on some christmas bedding I would definitely recommend Primark as they have such a good range, but the bedding that I actually wanted had already sold out last weekend (cries) so make sure you get some sooner rather than later! P.P.S. I wasn't paid to say that, I just think Primark's great when it comes to Christmas!

  2. The smoothie looks yummeh, Lizzy! I do feel your sentiment when comes to Uni & lack of sleep lol. I am not consistent with my brekkie. There are days I go without breakfast but when I do have one, it's a Rye bread with Jam & black coffee haha. Love how simple your smoothie is with all the good ingredients in it :)
